Welcome to Mayan Calendar Today!
The 260-day Mayan Calendar "Tzolkin" is the world's most accurate calendar. This Calendar of The Americas is exactly aligned to the solar orbital cycles of the planet Venus and is composed of 20 symbols and 13 numbers.
Author and researcher Richard Alan Eagle has been teaching the Mayan Calendar for over 35 years.
The ancient Mayan Calendar exactly predicts the synodic orbital periods of the planets Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, plus solar and lunar eclipses.
There are two versions of the Mayan Calendar in use: (1) the oldest and most accurate is the Guatemala Highland count, used here on this website, and (2) the Yucatan Lowland count, most famously used by the late Dr. Jose Argüelles for his boardgame DREAMSPELL.
Richard was the first person to receive a Dreamspell kit and traveled America in 1992, teaching how to use it, with Argüelles naming Richard his "best student."
Dr. Argüelles, co-founders of April 22 Earth Day, brought the Mayan Calendar to the attention of the world with his 1987 book, MAYAN FACTOR: PATH BEYOND TECHNOLOGY.
The Guatemala Highland count is exactly aligned with the orbital cycles of Venus and is used by the oldest Maya communities in Central America, whereas the Yucatan Lowland count, used for Dreamspell, has been scientifically proven to be in error, is not aligned with the rising & setting of Venus every 8 years, and is currently mis-counted by 44 days.
Many people mistake the round Aztec Sun Stone, a commissioned work of art created in 1494 AD on display in Mexico City, for the design of the Mayan Calendar.

Note: Some Argüelles followers have become fanatical about the concept of using a "13 Moon Calendar," composed of thirteen 28-day months, something I do not support because the average lunar cycle is 27.35 days and will always create a problem every four years with the "extra" Leap Year day...K.I.S.S.

The Mayan Calendar tracks coherent resonance through waves of time.
28 is a "perfect number."
We can find the number 28 by a formula of adding together the sum of the week-day numbers for 13 sets of four specific connected days: (Set 1) the first and last days of the first and last months, days #1, #20, #241 and #260. 1+7+7+13=28.
